The Marion Animal shelter is located at 1001 L. H. Polk Extended. The shelter is owned and operated by the city of Marion and is operated 6 days a week with the control officer's on call the remainder of the time. The Marion Animal Shelter has been recognized across the state as being one of the cleanest, most up to date, and best operated shelters in this part of the United States.
